Disco Phonebooth
Another phone booth project! Disco Phonebooth is made from an enclosed phone booth that sat at a truck stop in Nevada for many years, then was given to me by a friend who'd received it as a gift long ago.
Disco Phonebooth is an interactive experience that lets participants select tracks from a light-up button board inside the booth. Each button plays a different song with synced LEDs, creating a small, contained dance party. Like the original PHONEBOOTH, Disco Phonebooth only plays the best chiptune hits and is ad-supported, frequently reminding participants about the latest deals, offers, and products they should be interested in.
I made this with Emmett as part of our Zephyr Workshop collection, with some extra engineering help from my dad. The hardware is simple: an Arduino, a Pixelblaze, some speakers, lots of LEDs. We bring it to local festivals and parties where it is enjoyed by people of all ages.
